What testosterone HRT costs at FOLX

  • Most members without insurance pay about $84–$95/month for testosterone gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) — roughly $964–$1,152/year, all in.
  • That covers everything: membership, clinician visits, labs, meds, and the supplies for your shots.
  • Membership is $43.99/month (or $29/month paid annually — $349/year). Visits, labs, and meds are billed separately — you only pay for what you use.
  • No surprise costs. You see the price before every charge.
  • You can use insurance for visits (if we're in-network) and for meds (at a pharmacy you choose).
  • Meds are the biggest variable: $92–$215 every 90 days for gel, or $94 every 90 days for injections (supplies included).
  • Worried about cost? The FOLX HRT Care Fund helps eligible members cover care.

How much does testosterone HRT cost per month at FOLX?

For most members paying without insurance, testosterone GAHT comes to about $84–$95/month once visits and labs are averaged across the year. Most of it is membership and meds; visits and labs happen once or twice a year.

The year, broken down:

  • $43.99/month membership ($29/month annual)
  • $79–$238/year for visits
  • $29–$58/year for labs
  • Meds + supplies: varies by route (below)

What does the FOLX membership actually include?

Straight answer: membership isn't your testosterone. The $43.99/month is your clinical home — automatic refills, messaging your care team anytime, the community platform, support groups, referrals, and care navigation. Visits, labs, and meds are separate. No per-message charges, no copay surprises.

How much are clinician visits?

First visit is $159 (or your copay if we're in-network); follow-ups are $79 (or your copay). Most members on T see their clinician once or twice a year.

How much do labs cost?

Standard testosterone GAHT labs are $29, done one to two times a year — so roughly $29–$58/year.

How much does testosterone medication cost?

Depends on your route. Through the FOLX pharmacy (shipped to your door, injection supplies included), every 90 days:

  • Injections (testosterone cypionate): $94 — includes needles and syringes
  • Gel: $92–$215

Going through your own pharmacy with GoodRx: injectable T can run $15–$80 a vial and gel $46–$161, depending on dose. Note that if you buy meds outside FOLX, you'll pay separately for injection supplies (often covered by insurance as durable medical equipment).

Can I use insurance for testosterone HRT?

Yes — for visits (if FOLX is in-network) and meds (at a pharmacy that takes your plan). Membership isn't run through insurance. Not sure what your plan covers? Member Navigators can help you sort it out.

What if I can't afford it?

Real options:

  • Pay annually — membership drops to $29/month.
  • Use GoodRx or insurance for meds — usually the biggest single savings.
  • Use your insurance for visits — copay can be $15 - $30 per visit

Money shouldn't be what stops you from starting T. We know money can be tight, and we're always working to increase access.

Why testosterone HRT costs what it does at FOLX

No per-refill, per-message, or per-question fees. Membership bundles continuity — the same care team who knows your history — so you're not restarting every visit. For most members that's cheaper and a lot less hassle than cobbling care together on your own.
